Buckeyes top third-ranked Sooners

Marscilla Packer scored 15 points and Jessica Davenport added 14 points and 10 rebounds Wednesday to lead No. 8 Ohio State to a 74-67 victory over No. 3 Oklahoma in Norman, Okla.

The Buckeyes (10-1) overcame Courtney Paris’ 38th consecutive double-double to end a 23-game regular-season win streak for the Sooners (9-1).

(2) North Carolina 87, St. John’s 43: At Myrtle Beach, S.C., Erlana Larkins had 17 points and 14 rebounds and the Tar Heels (13-0) beat the Red Storm (3-8).

(4) Duke 75, SMU 45: At Cancun, Mexico, Abby Waner scored 12 points as the Blue Devils (11-0) beat the Mustangs (7-4) in the Caribbean Classic Tournament.

(5) Tennessee 66, West Virginia 51: At Knoxville, Tenn., Candace Parker scored 19 points to lift the Lady Vols (10-1) past the Mountaineers (7-5).

(7) LSU 83, McNeese St. 28: At Baton Rouge, La., Sylvia Fowles scored 18 of her 20 points in the first half and the Tigers (12-1) overwhelmed the Cowgirls (2-9).

(11) Georgia 76, George Mason 51: At Fairfax, Va., Tasha Humphrey scored 22 points to help the Bulldogs (10-1) rout the Patriots (4-3).

(12) Vanderbilt 109, Lipscomb 40: At Nashville, Tenn., Amber Borton had a career-high 14 points and all 12 Commodores (10-1) scored in a victory over the Lady Bisons (3-6) in the Vanderbilt Holiday Tournament.

(13) Purdue 75, Texas-San Antonio 50: At Las Vegas, Katie Gearlds had 17 points and eight rebounds and the Boilermakers (10-2) beat the Roadrunners (1-8) in the Duel in the Desert.

(14) Stanford 62, USC 46: At Los Angeles, Kristen Newlin and Brooke Smith scored 14 points each as the Cardinal (6-3) defeated the Trojans (6-5) in the Pac-10 opener for both teams.

UCLA 77, (15) California 68 (OT): At Los Angeles, Amanda Livingston scored 16 points to lead the Bruins (7-6) past the Golden Bears (8-2) in a Pac-10 opener for both teams.

(17) DePaul 97, Loyola of Chicago 70: At Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, Caprice Smith scored 19 points to lead the Blue Demons (10-1) past the Ramblers (1-9) in the San Juan Shootout.

(18) Texas A&M 70, Delaware St. 43: At College Station, Texas, Takia Starks and Adrian McGowen both scored 13 points as the Aggies (8-2) beat the Hornets (4-5).

(20) Michigan St. 69, UC Santa Barbara 45: At Santa Barbara, Calif., Allyssa DeHaan scored 17 points, Victoria Lucas-Perry had 15, and Aisha Jefferson added 12 as the Spartans (8-2) beat the Gauchos (4-7).

(22) Pittsburgh 54, Liberty 47: At Cancun, Mexico, Shavonte Zellous scored 23 points and the Panthers (12-0) beat the Lady Flames (6-5) in the Caribbean Classic Tournament.

(24) Arkansas 75, Stephen F. Austin 54: At Hot Springs, Ark., Donica Cosby finished with 23 points to lead the Razorbacks (13-1) to a victory over the Ladyjacks (7-5).

(25) Bowling Green 59, Texas-Arlington 48: At Cancun, Mexico, Ali Mann and Amber Flynn scored 16 points apiece to lead the Falcons (8-2) past the Mavericks (4-7) in the Caribbean Classic Tournament.
