Lewiston’s Shane Moser made a short jumper at the buzzer to give the Bengals a 60-58 win over the host Post Falls Trojans in an Inland Empire League boys opener Saturday night.
Lewiston (4-1) outscored the Trojans 40-28 in the second half to erase a 10-point halftime deficit.
Moser finished with 16 points and Andrew Packwood added 11.
Levi Buckles tallied 18 points on 7-of-7 shooting to lead Post Falls (3-3).
“Rylin Dukes scored 15 points and Travis Corigliano and Eric Alexander each added 10 as Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) edged visiting Lakeland 54-50 in non-league play. The Eagles (4-1) outscored the Hawks 13-4 in the second quarter to take a 26-20 lead into halftime. Bubba Bartlett scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Lakeland (0-6). … Pete Gibson scored 12 points and Mat Lawrence added 10 as Sandpoint edged visiting West Valley 42-40. “A.J. Bennett and Ryan Winebark scored 11 points apiece to lead Bonners Ferry to a 56-47 win over Clark Fork in the championship game of the Newport Tournament. Spenser Behrens added 10 points for the Badgers (5-2), who outscored the Wampus Cats 21-14 in the second quarter to take a 31-24 lead into halftime. Jared Broggi scored a game-high 17 points for Clark Fork (2-4). … Also at the Newport Tournament, Aaron Harty scored 20 points and Micah Smith added 14 as Priest River routed host Newport 90-51 in the consolation game. Andrew Scott added 11 points for the Spartans (5-3), who outrebounded the Grizzlies 49-34. Priest River outscored Newport 26-6 in the second quarter to take a 52-16 halftime lead. Willie Hunt led the host Grizzlies (1-6) with 16 points.
“Nick Arthun had 17 points, four rebounds, four steals and three assists as Wallace beat visiting Lakeside 58-36 in the North Star League. Jared Bilaski added seven points for the Miners (5-2, 2-0), who outscored the Knights 20-4 in the third quarter to take a 47-28 lead into the fourth. Peter Mahoney tallied 11 points for Lakeside (1-3, 0-1).
