Liberty Lake budget set
The prices are set for next year’s expenses in the City of Liberty Lake.
The City Council passed the 2007 budget during its Tuesday night meeting, setting aside $11,975,000 to run the city.
This year’s budget sets aside funds for landscape improvements to the city’s 6.4 acre library site, as well as a major road project in the city’s business core.
“It’s our planned spending for 2007,” said city finance director Arlene Fisher. “It’s the city’s key management tool.”
Also Tuesday, the city chose the Liberty Lake Splash as the newspaper the city will use to publish legal notices. Previously the city used the Spokane Valley News Herald, which did not submit a bid this year.
Councilman Brian Sayrs was appointed as a Small Cities Representative to the Spokane Transit Authority Regional Board, and members of the Friends of Pavillion Park discussed possible improvements to the city’s main park.
The area may see more trees next year, as well as a small storage building and some interpretative signs. The park should also see an “entry statement” incorporated into its design, Fisher said.
