Student wins scholarship for ticket design
North Idaho College graphic design student Jamie Murphy of Coeur d’Alene recently won a $100 scholarship from the Idaho Lottery for her winning design of a scratch ticket.
First-, second- and third-place overall winners received scholarships and their scratch ticket design, will be printed and sold by the Idaho Lottery. Selected from more than 100 entries, the first-place winner was from Idaho State University, the second-place winner was from the University of Idaho, and two entrants from the University of Idaho and Idaho State University tied for third place.
In addition to the top-three winners, one student was selected from each school as the recipient of a $100 scholarship.
Murphy’s “One Dollar Auditions” design was the winning entry from NIC. She also submitted an entry for a “Monkey in a Barrel” scratch ticket that earned honorable mention.
“It’s a spoof on ‘American Idol,’ ” Murphy said.
Murphy is a graphic design/fine arts and theater major at NIC. She was also a recent recipient of the prestigious Toni Robideaux Scholarship from the Spokane Advertising Federation.
