•Greater Spokane League: Shelby Bethel allowed one run and struck out eight in a two-hitter, and University posted a 4-1 win over visiting Clarkston (9-6) Thursday. Mandy Mikelson collected two triples and scored a run, and Tonya Schnibbe added two hits with a triple and an RBI for the Titans (12-2). … Kelcie Vallies struck out 10 and chipped in two hits, including a triple and an RBI, to lead North Central to a 6-3 win over visiting East Valley (3-12). Vallies became the second GSL pitcher to reach 10 wins. Maggie Capwell went 3 for 4 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored to lead the Indians (10-4). … Mickenzie Aldan and Emily Anderson each had two-run home runs for Central Valley in a 9-4 win at West Valley (2-12). Shelly Lloyd picked up the win in her first decision for the Bears (12-3). … Ashley Partridge finished 3 for 5 with four RBIs and two runs scored to lead Rogers (10-5) to a 13-9 win at Ferris (2-13). .

•Great Northern League: Bryn Smith went 3 for 3 with three RBIs and two runs scored as Chewelah ran away with a 14-4 win over visiting Deer Park (3-10, 1-7) in six innings. Kelsey Schalock chipped in three hits and scored three runs for the Cougars (9-3, 3-2).

Baseball

•Great Northern League: Tyler Owens hit the game-winning RBI double in the bottom of the seventh, and Medical Lake came from behind to defeat visiting Chewelah 7-6. Brad Palmer batted in the game-tying run with a double in the seventh and finished the game with two RBIs. Anthony Jorgenson chipped in three RBIs, including a two-run homer for the Cardinals (9-4), and Casey Christianson had three RBIs for the Cougars (2-11).

Boys soccer

•Great Northern League: Brandon Robo scored the game-winning goal after Justin Linafelter’s breakaway shot was saved in Medical Lake’s 3-2 overtime win over visiting Colville (2-12, 1-9). Linafelter scored with a goal 4 minutes into the game, then assisted on the next two goals for Medical Lake (5-8, 5-5). … Evan McCain scored twice as Pullman registered a 5-2 win over host Chewelah (0-11, 0-10). Kevin Volkening recorded the shutout for the Greyhounds (12-0, 9-0). … Riverside’s match at Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) was postponed because the officials didn’t show. No makeup date has been set.

Boys tennis

•Great Northern League: Medical Lake (6-0) clinched the GNL championship with a 6-1 win over Pullman with two regular-season matches remaining.
