MOOSE JAW, Saskatchewan – Joey Perricone stopped 50 shots as the Moose Jaw Warriors moved to within a win of earning a berth in the President’s Cup following a 3-1 decision over the Medicine Hat Tigers in WHL playoff action Wednesday night.

The Warriors hold a 3-1 lead in the best-of-7 Eastern Conference final, and can wrap up the series Friday night in Medicine Hat.

Blair Jones, Ian McKenzie and Troy Brouwer scored in the second period for Moose Jaw, with Kenndal McArdle adding a pair of assists.

Kris Russell’s goal with 31 seconds remaining in regulation for Medicine Hat ruined Perricone’s bid for his third shutout of the postseason.

Tigers goalie Matt Keatley made 21 saves.

The Warriors had a goal on four power-play opportunities. Medicine Hat failed to convert on any of its five chances.

Vancouver leads Everett 3-0 in the Western Conference.
