Dodgers 6, Astros 2: At Houston, Nomar Garciaparra hit a go-ahead grand slam off Brad Lidge in the ninth inning for his first RBIs with the Dodgers, sending Los Angeles to a win over the Astros. Andy Pettitte held the Dodgers hitless until J.D. Drew homered with one out in the seventh inning to tie the score at 1. Lance Berkman’s eighth-inning homer put Houston ahead, but Lidge couldn’t hold on.

Reds 4, Nationals 2: At Washington, Elizardo Ramirez pitched effectively into the eighth inning for his first major league win as Cincinnati topped the Nationals.

Phillies 6, Rockies 5: At Philadelphia, Cory Lidle struck out 10 and Bobby Abreu drove in three runs to lead the Phillies past Colorado.

Cardinals 7, Pirates 2: At St. Louis, Albert Pujols hit his major league-leading 12th home run and Chris Carpenter beat Pittsburgh in the Cardinals’ victory.

Brewers 3, Braves 2: At Milwaukee, Chris Capuano pitched seven strong innings and Corey Koskie hit his first home run for the Brewers to help Milwaukee beat Atlanta.

Cubs 6, Marlins 3: At Chicago, Jacque Jones hit a three-run homer to cap a six-run eighth inning and the Cubs rallied against Florida’s bullpen for a victory.

Giants 6, Mets 2: At San Francisco, Moises Alou homered and drove in five runs after a pair of intentional walks to Barry Bonds to lead the Giants over New York.

Diamondbacks 4, Padres 1: At San Diego, Brandon Webb pitched into the ninth inning and Johnny Estrada hit a two-run double to lead Arizona past the Padres.
