Look at my treasure
When Theresa Meyer read a recent Treasure Hunt column about decorating with vintage maps, she wrote Home with a story of her own.
Meyer, who is the assistant principal at Lewis and Clark High School, rescued a vintage map that used to hang in her classroom. Looking for a way to display the large pull-down map, she found inspiration in a magazine.
Following the illustration, Meyer cut the map into nine pieces and framed each piece individually. She then arranged the nine frames into a grouping on the wall.
“When I finally got up the courage to make the first cut I was a little hesitant, but I went ahead and did it,” Meyer wrote.
Now she’s glad she did.
“It makes a great display and conversation piece,” she wrote “And, it’s no longer relegated to my closet.”
