Reward offered for tips in beating

The Spokesman-Review

Secret Witness is offering a $500 reward for information that leads to the arrest of a man in a near fatal beating.

The victim, a 26-year-old Spokane man, nearly bled to death after being hit, kicked and slashed with a knife on April 15 outside of a bar and grill at 3525 N. Division, said Spokane police spokesman Cpl. Tom Lee. The incident happened near midnight.

The victim was trying to help another man who was being assaulted by a group of people when one man turned on him, Lee said.

The man is described as white, 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall with a medium build and a shaved head.

Anyone with information regarding the assault should call (509) 327-5111. Tipsters do not have to give their name to collect the reward but should give a code name or number.

Three adults and two children lived in the house, which sustained an estimated $80,000 in structural and content damage, according to the Fire Department
