Orthodox churches plan Easter celebrations

Orthodox churches, which follow the Julian calendar, will be celebrating Easter this weekend. Christ the Savior Orthodox Church in the Valley will end its Holy Week services with a Vesperal Divine Liturgy at 9 a.m. today.

Church members will also take part in the traditional late night service at 11 p.m. today, followed by a Pascha feast after midnight. Easter Sunday celebration begins at 1 p.m. Sunday with Agape Vespers and the reading of the Gospel in several different languages.

The church is at 12407 E. 16th Ave.

Youth concert

Opportunity Presbyterian Church will host a concert featuring two local high school Christian bands at 7 p.m. today. The groups are BEAF from University High School and Unison from Post Falls. Admission is $5. Proceeds will help fund a youth mission trip this summer.

The church is at 202 N. Pines Road.

Craft fair

St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church is holding a craft fair this weekend. The event also will include a quilt raffle, bake sale and door prizes. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Sunday at the church, at 4521 N. Arden Road. Admission is $1 for adults.
