More liberal limits for smallmouth, walleye

With smallmouth bass and walleyes booming in some of Eastern Washington’s most popular fisheries, daily catch limits will be liberalized starting May 1.

Among the changes:

“Walleye on Lake Roosevelt: Daily limit will be 8 fish, no minimum size, but no more than one over 22 inches.

“Walleye on Moses Lake, Potholes Reservoir and Sprague Lake: Daily limit will be 8 fish, minimum size 12 inches, no more than one over 22 inches.

“Smallmouth bass on Lake Roosevelt as well as Banks, Moses and Potholes: Daily limit will be 10 fish, no minimum size, but no more than one over 14 inches.

NOTE: the statewide slot limit for largemouth bass remains unchanged.
