Wishing well makes dreams come true
If you’re a do-it-yourselfer trying to dream up a fresh way to make the garden blossom this spring, this pretty little wishing well is the perfect project. Just close your eyes and toss in a coin – then fill up the well with potted plants and flowers and watch your wish come true.
Featuring full-size traceable patterns for all of the curved and angled cuts, the project is easy enough for most woodworkers. To build, just trace the pieces onto wood and cut out. Next, assemble the well and the roof separately. Finally, combine the well and roof, attach the shingles and apply finish.
What you need
Required materials for the project include standard lumber (redwood, pine, cedar or treated lumber), a 4-by-4 sheet of exterior plywood, a bundle of shingles (cedar or asphalt), a dowel, fasteners, glue and finish. As pictured, the project is finished with a clear sealer, but it can be also be stained or painted to match your house.
The completed wishing well measures 27 inches in diameter by about four feet tall.
