Dodgers 13, Pirates 5: At Pittsburgh, Cody Ross hit a grand slam and a three-run homer in successive at-bats and Los Angeles rode a big game from a player who could be headed back to the minors with Kenny Lofton returning to the roster.

Mets 13, Nationals 4: At Washington, Carlos Beltran, David Wright and Cliff Floyd homered in the first inning, and Carlos Delgado later tacked on a two-run shot, all off All-Star Livan Hernandez, starting New York on its way.

Marlins 9, Padres 2: At Miami, Mike Jacobs hit a three-run homer, his third, and Dan Uggla added a two-run homer, the first of his career and Florida defeated San Diego to break a five-game losing streak.

Brewers 4, Cardinals 3 (11): At St. Louis, Carlos Lee hit a tiebreaking home run in the 11th inning, minutes after making a pair of game-saving catches at the left-field wall, helping Milwaukee avoid a three-game sweep.

Reds 8, Cubs 3: At Chicago, Adam Dunn hit a solo homer, and Felipe Lopez and Austin Kearns added three-run shots to lead Cincinnati.

Phillies 7, Braves 6: At Atlanta, Chase Utley hit his first two homers of the season and drove in four runs, helping Philadelphia take another series at Turner Field. Jimmy Rollins, Bobby Abreu and Utley hit homers in the Phillies’ five-run first inning.

Giants 5-0, Astros 3-8: At San Francisco, Roy Oswalt pitched 8 1/3 strong innings and Lance Berkman hit his N.L.-leading fifth and sixth homers of the season, leading Houston past the Giants to give the Astros a doubleheader split. In the first game, Moises Alou hit his 300th career home run for San Francisco.

Rockies 5, Diamondbacks 3: At Phoenix, Brad Hawpe homered for the fourth straight game, leading Colorado to a victory over Arizona. Hawpe matched the third-longest homer streak in club history.
