Home and garden projects bring out the creative side of all of us. And it’s fun to show and tell.

Luis and Tammy Santana sent a photo of one of the three hand-made gates that surround the garden at their Newman Lake Home.

“My husband and I created this gate out of scrap metal and garage sale items that we collected over a long period of time,” Tammy Santana wrote. “In the upper center of gate a red dragon sits on top of a globe.”

Santana said the ornamental globe is actually part of an old lamp. More lamp parts, as well as a brass sun sculpture, were incorporated into the project.

The couple planted a Silver Lace vine at the base of the gate. They added an iron arch to support the vine.

“It blooms silverfish white small blossoms in late summer,” Santana wrote.
