Seahawks hold on to kicker Brown

Associated Press The Spokesman-Review

The Seattle Seahawks have re-signed restricted free-agent kicker Josh Brown for 2006.

Terms were not immediately available, but the team had tendered Brown a one-year offer for approximately $720,000 last month.

Brown made 18 of 25 field goal attempts last season, including game-winning ones against Dallas and the New York Giants. He finished fifth in the NFC in kicker scoring with 110 points. The seventh-round draft choice from Nebraska in 2003 tied Norm Johnson’s team record with five field goals made of 50 yards or more.

He is 63 for 80 on field goals in his three-year career.

Price back with Bills

Peerless Price signed a four-year contract with the Buffalo Bills, rejoining the team with which the receiver enjoyed the most success.

A seven-year NFL veteran, he returns to the Bills after failed stints with Atlanta and Dallas – moves that came after he forced a trade from Buffalo to the Falcons three years ago. His new contract is worth more than $10 million and includes additional incentives should he take over as the Bills No. 1 receiver.

The signing comes a week after the Bills traded disgruntled starter Eric Moulds to Houston. Price is expected to compete for his former No. 2 spot behind Lee Evans.

Players’ union files grievance

The NFL Players Association filed a grievance against the Tennessee Titans on behalf of Steve McNair, accusing the team of breaching the quarterback’s contract when it barred him from working out at its facility.

McNair was told last Monday he couldn’t work out at the Titans training facility for fear he could injure himself and put the team on the hook for the entirety of his $23.46 million salary cap figure for 2006.
