Burglary suspects sought
Liberty Lake Police officers were on a chase Monday night, trying to find what seemed to be two suspects who broke into three houses.
Several neighbors in the 900 block of North Malvern Road reported hearing people crashing around their homes Monday night. One woman heard the crashing and locked herself and her children upstairs and called police, said Sgt. Ray Bourgeois
After police arrived on scene, other neighbors reported suspicious activity in or near their homes, usually associated with the smell of cigarette smoke, he said. The neighbors reported that the men had run north from the property.
Liberty Lake officers called in to Spokane for a police dog, which followed the trail of the suspects for one mile before losing it. The smell probably washed away with the rain showers Monday night, Bourgeois said.
Liberty Lake police are still looking for at least one white male in his late teens or early 20s who was wearing a light colored jacket. Officials could not get a description of the other suspect.
Anyone with information can call the police department at 755-1140.
