Greater Spokane League: Adam Smith went the distance while striking out four, as University edged East Valley 2-1 in the early game of Wednesday’s doubleheader at East Valley. Smith also batted in the game-winning run with a double in the third inning. Jye Lanphere picked up three hits for the Knights (4-4, 4-4). Skyler Schiller hit a home run on the first pitch of the game and Tanner Hamilton hit his second homer of the season in the fifth, as East Valley blew by the Titans (7-3, 6-2) in the late game 12-4. Mike Stewart picked up his first win on the mound and went 3 for 4 with four RBIs at the plate. … Eric Barge threw a complete game while striking out seven and allowing one walk, as visiting Lewis and Clark blanked Rogers 6-0 in the first game of a doubleheader. Jamie McNeill added a two-hit, two-RBI performance for the Tigers (2-4, 2-4). Jacob Partridge went 3 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored, as the Pirates (4-4, 2-4) avenged the loss with a 7-4 win in the second game. Scottie Livengood earned the win with seven strikeouts, and helped his own cause with four RBIs on three hits. … Mitch Phillips provided the offense with a three hit, three RBI, and three run performance, as West Valley cruised past visiting Shadle Park 12-2 in the early game of a doubleheader. In the late game, the Eagles (5-1, 5-1) tied the game in the seventh, and then exploded for eight runs in the ninth to defeat the Highlanders (1-5, 1-5) 12-4. Andy Vennum threw five innings while striking out four in his first varsity start.

Great Northern League: Mitch Riddle went 2 for 4 and had two RBIs as Pullman pulled out a 9-7 win at Colville (3-2, 3-2). Justin Cooper picked up a pair of hits and Chris Snyder went 2 for 5 with an RBI for the Greyhounds (3-0, 2-0).
