WSU football forecast
Bright spot
Sophomore wide receiver Benny Ward made a nice sliding catch over the middle, hanging on after getting crunched by two defenders. Ward has shown improvement this spring and might be in line to get some playing time if that continues, as the Cougars appear to be solid but not tremendously deep at wideout this fall.
Still a little hazy
The injury situation continues to be thorny. Seeing more injuries in the spring isn’t unusual, but it has to rankle the WSU staff that it’s missing out on seeing some positional battles at offensive line and cornerback because of nagging, or in some cases serious, injuries.
