Time to sign up your team
Hardhitters Softball can accommodate more than 100 teams this summer for league and tournament play and should be able to absorb the 20 league teams that played last summer at Quad Park, area director Steve Vogel said.
More than 60 teams were in Hardhitters’ men’s, women’s, coed, seniors and church play last summer. Summer league play starts April 30 and is open to all teams from any state. Teams pay a $630 entry fee to ensure a spot in the league; there are no player fees. Coed, men’s and senior teams will play 14 league games. Coed and men’s leagues play on Sundays; senior league is played during the week at 9 a.m. starting in June. Games will be played in Rathdrum and Post Falls. All senior teams that play in the state tournament will qualify for the Seniors World tournament in Salem, Ore.
Vogel said tournaments are on the schedule each weekend from April through October. State tournaments are scheduled for coed, men’s, women’s, seniors and church. Hardhitters’ Web site indicates the league follows USSA rules.
Umpires who worked at Quad Park will be able to work Hardhitters games, Vogel said. Additional umpires are being sought; call Vogel at (208) 699-1773 for more information. Game fee is $22.
