Naturalizing Your Landscaping – The WSU Master Gardeners are offering this course on Thursdays. Runs through Oct. 20. 6-8 p.m., 222 N. Havana St. $50. 477-2048.

Apple Festival - Harvest festival is held over seven weekends, Sept. 17-Oct. 30. Enjoy a large variety of apples, fresh pressed cider and other produce, live music, craft booths, corn and straw mazes and animals. Green Bluff.

Fall Planting at Turnbull Refuge – This event will include maintenance work on existing trees and planting new ones. After the work has been completed, there will be a potluck, so bring a main dish, salad or dessert. Saturday. 9 a.m., Turnbull Wildlife Refuge, Cheney. 235-4723.

PCEI Volunteer Opportunities – Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute needs volunteer help.
