Is Garner about to assume a new alias – ”Mommy”?
Is Jennifer Garner taking on a new role as mother? The “Alias” star and boyfriend Ben Affleck are expecting their first child in November, according to E! News.
Garner’s publicist didn’t immediately return a call from the Associated Press on Monday, while Affleck’s representative refused to comment.
Last month there was speculation that Garner and Affleck are engaged, though neither star has confirmed those reports.
The couple met while shooting the action flick “Daredevil,” but didn’t begin dating until 2004.
Garner and the 32-year-old Affleck have kept their relationship private, as opposed to his much-publicized engagement to Jennifer Lopez, which was called off in January 2004.
Garner, 33, was previously married to actor Scott Foley. They divorced in March 2004.
Oops, she bit it again
Britney Spears, meanwhile, is thoroughly enjoying her pregnancy.
“Eating for two is so much fun; I get to eat lots and lots!” she says in a posting on her Web site.
Spears, who announced her pregnancy last month, said she and husband Kevin Federline “ate at some amazing restaurants in Scottsdale” during a “peaceful and relaxing” two-week vacation in Arizona.
Their new reality series, “Britney and Kevin: Chaotic,” premieres May 17 on UPN.
None of that risky business for Katie
Don’t be expecting any premature baby news coming from the recent Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes hookup.
A 2003 profile of Holmes in the Sunday Mirror of London discusses how “she went to cheerleading practice, got straight-A grades, and made a pledge that she would remain a virgin until marriage.”
Paula’s working on her graven image
Despite the controversy over allegations that she had an affair with a former “American Idol” contestant, Paula Abdul still has a sense of humor about it.
Over the weekend, Abdul introduced the opening sketch on “Saturday Night Live,” a parody of the situation that featured Amy Poehler as Abdul and Finesse Mitchell as Clark.
And at the end, she returned with her own “Idol”-style critique, telling Poehler: “You need to perfect the clap a little more and be a lot more sexier so contestants will be willing to sleep with you.”
But as for his moral stature …
The good people of Augusta, Ga., honored James Brown on Friday with a life-size bronze statue of the Godfather of Soul, grinning broadly and wearing a cape.
The statue was supposed to be unveiled last May, for Brown’s 71st birthday, but the city postponed the ceremony because the entertainer, who has spent time in jail for drugs and assault, was facing domestic violence charges for pushing and threatening his wife.
“I hope I didn’t disappoint anyone and I’m so glad you did what you did,” said Brown, who was born in South Carolina but grew up in Augusta.
