CPR Refresher Course – The American Red Cross is presenting refresher courses in infant, child and adult CPR, and a general first-aid class, Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. and Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at the Gladish Community Center, 115 N.W. Mammography Health Screenings – The Sacred Heart Women’s Health Center Coach will be at the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy, 1620 W. Rowan, Wednesday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Screenings are available by appointment. To reserve a time, call 474-2400.

Breastfeeding Basics – This two-week class for expectant mothers will discuss benefits and techniques of breastfeeding, beginning Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute, 711 S. Tobacco Free For Pregnant Women – This four-week class will discuss decreasing stress, avoiding weight gain, building motivation and exercise and includes a free Quit Kit. Ending Nicotine Dependence for Teens – For ages 12-19, this class will discuss the quitting process and will meet once a week for seven weeks starting Thursday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Holy Family Hospital Health Education Center, 5633 N. Lidgerwood. For information, call the CHER office at 232-8138.

Colorectal Cancer Update – Dr. Maryam Parviz, a surgical oncologist, will discuss surgical treatment options for colon cancer, the role of technology in diagnosis and disease staging, and new treatment options at this seminar, Monday at 6 p.m. at Cancer Care Northwest, 601 S. Look Good… Feel Better – A program offered by the American Cancer Society to help women diagnosed with cancer learn how to apply cosmetics and choose wigs and other head wear. The group meets monthly. For locations, time and more information, call Abby Wadlow at 455-3440, option 3.

Cancer Fitness Recovery Program – The Medically Directed Wellness Center at St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute is looking for four underinsured or uninsured women to participate in its Cancer Fitness Recovery Program. The program helps cancer survivors deal with the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has set aside money for women who cannot afford to join.
