Tango classes planned at CenterStage
CenterStage, 1017 W. First Ave., is offering weekly Argentine Tango classes from 7 to 10:30 p.m. on Thursdays. The classes will cover basic and advanced steps. Participants can come with or without a partner. They should wear dressy clothes, but not too formal; leather-soled shoes are recommended for men, and heels are recommended for women.
The classes are free, but a $5 donation to CenterStage is appreciated.

“ The Malidoma World Drum and Dance School, 408 W. Third Ave., is offering classes in West African and Afro-Cuban drumming.
The West African drumming class will meet weekly starting Thursday. Level 1 classes will begin at 6 p.m. and level 2 classes will begin at 7:30 p.m. Both will feature the djembe drum.
The Afro-Cuban drumming class meets weekly starting Friday at 6 p.m. and will use the conga drum.
Beginners are welcome, and drums will be provided. The cost is $80.

“ Monart Drawing School is offering day camps for children ages 4 and 5 who want to draw “Creepy Crawly Creatures” Aug. 9-11 at Spokane Art Supply, 1303 N. Monroe St.
