VBS ‘Solar Express’ free at Foothills
Going into the back half of summer, the vacation Bible school drumbeat marches on at Valley churches. The goal of the annual events is to teach children about God while letting them have fun at the same time. Some fill up, so signing up in advance is always a good idea.
The theme of the VBS set for the week of Aug. 1-5 at Foothills Community Church is “Solar Express: Empowered by the Son.” The session is open to children age 4 through the eighth grade. Classes will be held daily from 9 a.m. to noon at the church, 11102 N. Forker Road.
The session is free. To register or for more information, call the church office at 926-4971.
India Children’s Choir
The India Children’s Choir is scheduled to perform during the 9:30 a.m. worship service Sunday at Millwood Community Presbyterian Church, 3223 N. Marguerite Road. The choir is in the midst of a 10 month tour of the United States.
The tour is composed of children ages 9-12 from the Hmar Tribe of India. Members of the tribe were headhunters before their conversion to Christianity 90 years ago. The concert, sponsored by Bibles for the World, is free.
