Entrepreneurial training offered in Idaho

From staff reports

Entrepreneurial training will become available in Idaho’s rural areas under a new partnership between the Idaho Small Business Development Center and the Idaho Commerce & Labor department.

Rural economic development professionals are being certified to teach the NxLevel program, which aims to encourage business startups and expansions. The 10- to 12-week course covers topics such as financing and legal issues to marketing a business.

NxLevel is also offered through the Idaho Small Business Development Center’s six regional offices.

Only about 1 percent of new jobs in Idaho’s rural communities come from businesses moving into those areas, according to Idaho Commerce & Labor.

For more information, call (800) 225-3815 or visit the Idaho Small Business Development Center Web site at www.idahosbdc.org.

EnviroTech Services Inc., of Greeley, Colo., has opened a branch office in Spokane, following a decision to “increase our presence in the Pacific Northwest,” company Vice President Kevin Whyrick said.

The company provides products for melting ice and suppressing dust on roads, mostly for government use.

The new office employs two people. It’s located in the Spokane Business & Industrial Park on North Sullivan Road in Spokane Valley.
