Polm hits two free throws as Chewelah edges Pullman
Jenny Polm’s two free throws with 30 seconds left Saturday gave Chewelah a 45-43 Great Northern League win over visiting Pullman.
Polm’s free throws gave the Cougars (13-2, 6-1) a 45-41 lead. Nikki Nelson shot 8 of 11 from the field and scored 20 points for Chewelah, which leads Lakeside by one-half game and Riverside by one.
The Greyhounds (8-6, 3-3) got 14 points from Kelli Davis, whose final desperation shot fell short. Davis shot 6 of 7 from the floor.
Lakeside-Nine Mile Falls 44, Medical Lake 39: The host Cardinals (5-9, 1-6) cut the Eagles’ lead to three points with 10 seconds left, but Kelsey Stillar’s two free throws with 8 seconds left secured the win. Kia Gibson led the Eagles (12-2, 5-1) with 14 points. ML’s Miranda Spilker had 14.

Crusaders turn away Panthers
Sara Fairburn scored 18 points and Jessica McFaul added 15 to lead Northwest Christian to a 59-33 win over visiting Valley Christian at Colbert. Fairburn added 14 rebounds and McFaul picked off four steals for the Crusaders (7-9, 6-8). Mandy Cambra scored 10 points to lead the Panthers (4-12, 3-11). … Lind-Ritzville 40, Odessa 30: Jenna Kragt and Mikaela Schmunk combined for 21 points to lead the Broncos (8-8, 8-6) past the visiting Tigers.
