Pumpkin and his littermates were not at all sure about people when they arrived at the Kootenai Humane Society shelter. You couldn’t blame their suspicion, as humans hadn’t served them well. They were emaciated, dehydrated and covered with fleas and mites. Pumpkin’s orange coat has cleaned up beautifully and with basic needs met can now do the things a kitten is meant to do, like cuddle, purr and play. Daily handling by shelter staff has taught him that humans are not all bad. If you’d like to be the next good influence in Pumpkin’s life, visit Kootenai Humane Society at 11650 N. Ramsey Road in Hayden Lake, or call 772-4019.
