Broncos, Crusaders to play for Bi-County title

Northwest Christian will take a third crack at Lind-Ritzville, this time with the Bi-County League Tournament championship on the line

The Crusaders (21-2) survived a 50-47 semifinal game with Valley Christian (13-9) at Reardan to earn a shot at the Broncos, who swept the regular season series.

Karl Richardson scored 19 points to lead Northwest Christian.

Vitaliy Kozubenko scored 19 points to lead the Panthers, who play Reardan in a loser-out game Thursday at Reardan.

Lind-Ritzville 70, Liberty 49: The Broncos (21-1) started fast to secure their berth in the tourney’s title game, building a 13-point lead after 8 minutes. Cameron Stevenson scored 22 points to lead the charge for Lind-Ritzville. The Lancers (12-10), who got 14 points from Andy Hodgson, play Wilbur-Creston in a loser-out game Thursday at Reardan. … Reardan 63, Almira/Coulee-Hartline 47: Reardan (7-15) found a little home-court magic in upsetting the Warriors (11-11), eliminating them from the postseason in the process. Reardan built an 11-point lead at halftime, then scored 37 points in the second half to put the game away. Brad Alberts scored 18 to top the Indians. Justin Carstensen scored 11 points to lead ACH. … Wilbur-Creston 54, Odessa 52: The Wildcats (9-13) held off Odessa (8-14) in the loser-out game with three players – Joel Sherwood, Michael Johnson and Tyler Llewellyn – each scoring 12 points. David Johnson scored 17 points to lead the Tigers.

Rams hold on to beat Deer Park

Riverside built a nine-point lead midway through the fourth quarter, then held on to earn a 48-44 win over visiting Deer Park. Buddy Wood scored 20 points, grabbed seven rebounds and collected six steals to lead the Rams (12-7, 7-4), who also got 15 points from Adam Anderson. Brad Harper scored 16 points to lead the Stags (8-11, 3-8). … Pullman 49, Lakeside 45: The Greyhounds (15-5, 10-2) survived a high-scoring fourth quarter to turn away visiting Lakeside. J.T. Levenseller scored 11 points to lead Pullman Garrett Perkins poured in 20 points to lead the Eagles (9-10, 5-6). … Chewelah 72, Medical Lake 51: The Cougars scored 38 points through the first three quarters, then exploded for 34 in the final period at home to turn away visiting Medical Lake. Michael McCanna scored 27 points to lead Chewelah (11-8, 6-5). The Cardinals (15-4, 7-4) got 20 points from Steven Wesley.

St. George’s slays Curlew

St. George’s used a second-half full-court press to score a 58-52 victory at Curlew in a loser-out game. The Dragons (12-11) held Curlew (15-8) to one field goal in the final three minutes to seal the victory. Henry Butler poured in 22 points for St. George’s, which advances to play for third-place Thursday against Wellpinit at Colville. Cameron Kroupa scored 24 points and pulled down 16 rebounds for the Cougars. … Wellpinit 78, St. Michael’s 35: Wellpinit (13-10) dominated the boards in winning its loser-out game at home, taking a decided, 36-20 rebounding advantage. Preston Wynne had 32 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists to lead the Redskins. Carlos Durazo paced the Warriors (9-14) with 11 points.

Hartill sparks Rams

Angela Hartill scored 19 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and handed off five assists to lead Riverside to a 69-60 victory over visiting Deer Park. The Rams (15-4, 8-3) had three players score 14 or more points in the effort, which keeps them a game back of league-leading Chewelah with only Friday’s game with Medical Lake remaining in the regular season. Laura Gibson led the Stags (14-5, 7-4) with 23 points. … Chewelah 69, Medical Lake 60: Nikki Nelson put up 23 points to lead the Cougars (16-3, 9-2) at home. Jochelle Schatz added 13 points for Chewelah. Medical Lake (5-14, 1-10) got 19 points from Miranda Spilker and 15 points and 18 rebounds from Richelle Daily.

ACH nips Broncos

Kami Clark scored 25 points, 17 in the first half, sparking Almira/Coulee-Hartline to a 53-48 victory over Lind-Ritzville in the semifinals at Reardan. The Broncos held Clark scoreless in the third quarter, making an 11-5 run in the period to cut the Warriors’ lead to just two points going into the final period – in which Clark scored eight of her team’s 17 points. Michelle Balcom added 15 points and five assists for ACH (20-2), which plays Sprague-Harrington Friday at Reardan for the championship. Lind-Ritzville (12-10) will play Wilbur-Creston for third place. … Sprague-Harrington 62, Liberty 33: The Falcons (19-3) soared into Friday’s championship game behind the 13-point effort of Abby Hatten. Randi Roberts added 12 points and Stacie Shields 10 for Sprague-Harrington. Shawn Hennessey scored 14 points for Liberty (14-8). … Davenport 48, Odessa 42: Kaylee Semprimoznik scored 14 points and Kari Klaas and Darci Dehn each added 13 more to lead Davenport in the loser-out game. The Gorillas (11-11) advance to play Liberty in a loser-out game Thursday at Reardan. Odessa (5-17) got 11 points from Andrea Kuch. … Wilbur-Creston 46, Northwest Christian 43: The Wildcats (9-13) held NWC (8-14) to a single point in the fourth quarter, roaring back from a 10-point deficit after three periods to advance in the loser-out game. Zenda Reidt and Maddisen Peterson scored 13 and 11 points, respectively, to lead Wilbur-Creston, which plays Lind-Ritzville in a loser-out game Thursday at Reardan. The Crusaders got 17 points from Marinda Malott.
