Huskies use balanced scoring to fend off Eagles

Cameo Hicks led a well-balanced attack with 16 points as the Washington Huskies completed the non-conference part of their schedule with a 68-57 victory over the Eastern Washington Eagles on Monday night in Seattle.

The Huskies (7-2) open their Pac-10 season next week at home against California and Stanford.

Washington beat the Eagles (4-4) despite shooting just 30 percent from the field and getting outrebounded 49-44.

Joanna Chadd led the Eagles with 19 points, including five 3-pointers, and Julie Page had 12 points and 11 rebounds.

(3) LSU 72, New Orleans 41: At Baton Rouge, La., Seimone Augustus scored 23 points and became the fourth player in team history to score 2,000 career points, leading the Lady Tigers (5-0) past the Privateers (2-5).

(16) DePaul 89, Northern Illinois 46: At Chicago, Allie Quigley matched her season high with 23 points to help the Blue Demons (9-1) beat the Huskies (2-5).
