Suspect faces additional charge

A Spokane Valley man recently arrested on a warrant for possession of stolen property added a fresh felony to his list – possession of a controlled substance.

James E. Platz, 42, 9116 E. Sprague Ave., was taken to Spokane County Jail on the warrant and a charge of possession of methamphetamine, Spokane Valley Police spokesman Cpl. Dave Reagan said.

Police arrested Platz April 14 after he was seen walking along North Mullan Road, Reagan said. An officer found a breath mint container in the suspect’s pants with a small baggie of meth in it.
