Senior Center plans fashion show, lunch
Spokane Valley Senior Center is rolling out the runway for a spring fashion show and luncheon.
The May 7 Mother’s Day luncheon features “Upscale Resale” clothing provided by the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop and modeled by eight ladies from the center.
Lunch will be catered by Old Country Buffet and includes chicken-vegetable ala king, Caesar salad, cookies, coffee and lemonade.
Gentlemen seniors will serve the guests as a musician plays piano.
Clothes will be for sale after the event.
Mary Nelson, a volunteer, said the center hopes to inform seniors about of all the activities that are offered and increase membership as they prepare to move into their new facility at Mirabeau Point, this fall.
When finished, the new center will be significantly larger and have multiple rooms for simultaneous activities.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for students and children, and reservations are suggested.
The event will be at noon at the Spokane Valley Senior Center, 11423 E. Mission Ave.
