On Apr. 9, Stevenson threw four innings of a 10-0 no-hitter of Reardan On Saturday, Stevenson went five innings of a 13-1 no-hitter of Northwest Christian. L-R gets a test at third-place Almira/Coulee-Hartline (5-2, 4-2) on Saturday in Hartline, with a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m.
Panorama: In baseball, first place in the Panorama is on the line Saturday with Northport (4-1, 4-0) at Republic (7-1, 6-0) for a doubleheader beginning at noon. The two teams have combined to win by the 10-run mercy rule in nine of their 10 league games. Springdale (5-3, 4-2) can establish itself as a threat with a Saturday doubleheader against St. George’s (5-4, 4-2) and a Tuesday doubleheader at Northport. … Inchelium softball swept Curlew Thursday, and the league-leading Hornets (6-0, 6-0) will play a single game today at second-place Republic (3-1, 3-1) and a doubleheader Saturday at home against fifth-place Selkirk (2-2, 2-2). The game against Inchelium kicks off a difficult week for Republic, which heads up Highway 21 Tuesday for a doubleheader at Curlew (6-2, 6-2).
Whitman County: In baseball, Asotin (8-1, 7-1) leads the league by 1 1/2 games over LaCrosse-Washtucna (6-2, 5-2) and two games over Tekoa-Oakesdale/Rosalia (4-4, 4-2). Both L-W and T-O/R will have the chance to position themselves as the top contender this week. L-W travels to Rosalia Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m., and on Tuesday, the Tigercats host T-O/R for a single game at 4 p.m.
