The Southside Senior Activity and Community Center, at 27th and Ray, will hold its largest fund-raiser, the annual April Extravaganza, on April 30.

The event includes a luncheon and a silent and live auction.

Reservation forms are available from the center between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, or use the form in the monthly newsletter if you are a member. Deadline for reservations is April 26.

Cost is $20 per person prepaid. For more information, call 535-0803, ext. 0.

Everyone is welcome, but only those attending may bid on auction items. Bidding begins at 10 a.m.

Wines donated by Latah Creek Wineries will be available beginning at 10 a.m.

Entertainment will be provided by pianist Joanne Brown with a special performance by Intermezzo, featuring violinist Betty Himmelsbach and pianist Ann Rowe.

KHQ-TV’s Stephanie Vigil will be the celebrity guest at the luncheon.

A fashion show will be presented by Chico’s clothing store.

Items to be featured in the live auction include an elegant luncheon, for up to 30 people, prepared by Rockwood Retirement’s French chef; a table or wall grandfather clock donated by the Waterford Retirement Community; and two round-trip tickets to anywhere on the U.S. mainland from Southwest Airlines.

Silent auction items include crafts, gift baskets, rounds of golf, restaurant and theater gift certificates, 24-Hour Fitness passes, manicures and pedicures, auto care, museum tickets, a porcelain doll, a walker, Spokane Indians box tickets, and a scenic airplane ride.

Silent auction items are valued at $15 to $100. All auction items are donated by center members and local businesses. Highest bidders will be able to pay for their items by cash, check or credit card.

Bidding closes at noon.
