Royals 7, Devil Rays 6 (10): At St. Petersburg, Fla., Ruben Gotay hit an RBI grounder in the 10th inning and Kansas City beat Tampa Bay.
Indians 7, Tigers 6: At Detroit, Jhonny Peralta’s two-run double keyed Cleveland’s five-run seventh, and the Indians rallied to defeat Detroit. Rathdrum’s Josh Phelps homered for the Indians, who came back from a 3-0 deficit a night after overcoming a five-run deficit to win 8-7.
Blue Jays 5, Yankees 4: At New York, Vernon Wells hit a go-ahead, two-run triple off Orlando Hernandez in the seventh, and Toronto rallied past New York to send El Duque (8-1) to his first loss of the season.
Rangers 5, Athletics 3: At Arlington, Texas, Kenny Rogers matched a career high with his 17th win and Eric Young hit his first homer in more than a year, a three-run tiebreaker, leading Texas over Oakland to move three games back of the Athletics.
White Sox 7, Twins 6: At Chicago, Paul Konerko hit a game-winning RBI single in the ninth to lead Chicago to a victory over Minnesota. Wilson Valdez led off with a single off Joe Roa (2-3) and moved to second on Aaron Rowand’s sacrifice. Roa then walked Willie Harris and Konerko followed with a single to left, giving the White Sox the win. Neal Cotts (4-3) recorded one out in the ninth to earn the victory for Chicago.
Red Sox 7, Orioles 6 (12): At Boston, Orlando Cabrera homered in the bottom of the 12th to lead Boston to its second consecutive win in its last at-bat and topple Baltimore.
