Senior forward Angie Menghini scored 32 minutes into the game, then set up the game-winner with 10 minutes remaining in Sandpoint’s 2-1 non-league girls soccer game win over visiting Kennewick.

Menghini collected a pass from Allison Gillis to score the game’s lone first-half goal.

After the Lions evened the score at the 66-minute mark, Menghini set up the game-winner.

In other non-league games, Lake City and Eisenhower played to a 2-2 draw. The teams did not play overtime or a tiebreaker.

Boys

Outside defender Brantly Thornton scored a dozen minutes into the game to spark Post Falls to a 2-0 non-league victory over visiting Valley Christian. The junior created a handful of shots for himself, inspiring his teammates in the process. Brandon Parker added a goal midway through the second half. … Senior midfielder Bryce Shellarud‘s hat trick powered Northwest Christian to a 4-0 non-league win over the visiting Badgers of Bonners Ferry. Senior forward Ray Kelly assisted on the Crusader’s two first-half goals. … St. Maries limited the Post Falls junior varsity to just one shot while pounding away with 23 shots in a 4-0 non-league win. Nate Thurston had a pair of goals and Joe Renaldo had a pair of assists for the Lumberjacks.
