Market report

All of the favorites of late summer can be found at farmers’ markets and some fall previews are making an appearance. There is lots of sweet corn and tomatoes, along with summer squash, eggplant, peppers, green beans, squash, potatoes, celery, beets, carrots, onion, garlic, shallots, leeks and herbs. Peaches and nectarines are still the stars this time of year, and look for pears as they begin to appear at some markets. There are still some huckleberries, greens, broccoli, cabbage and kale.
