Bush stars in LC’s win over Shadle

Ivy Bush came up big for Lewis and Clark.

Bush, a 5-foot-4 hitter had 16 kills and four blocks as the Tigers, a regional qualifier last year, scored a 25-18, 25-22, 12-25, 26-24 Greater Spokane League victory at Shadle Park Tuesday.

Catie Schuetzle had 14 kills for the Highlanders.

In other games, Kellie Taylor served 13 consecutive points as University stopped Rogers in three straight games, 25-6, 25-6, 25-10. Mandy Daniels collected 11 kills and setter Kara Crisp dished out 20 assists to lead the Titans. … Gonzaga Prep surrendered just 32 points in beating Clarkston 25-14, 25-10, 25-8. Setter Elizabeth Hardan passed for 17 assists to lead the Bulldogs. … Mauran Meisen-Vehrs served four aces and 10 straight points in the third and final game as North Central rolled past Cheney, 25-19, 25-21, 25-8. … Sheridan Brett and Kasey Blevins each had a dozen digs as Ferris topped West Valley 25-9, 25-12, 25-22. … Katrina Johnson had seven digs and six blocks as Mt. Spokane rolled to a 25-16, 25-20, 25-20 win over West Valley. … Mead scored a 25-7, 25-18, 25-10 win over East Valley behind Rachael Schurman’s nine kills and seven blocks.

In nonleague games, Medical Lake needed five games to get past visiting Kellogg, 25-22, 24-26, 25-23, 20-25, 15-7. Caitlin Smith served three straight points in the fifth and deciding game and Desirea Goddard scored the final two to complete the marathon. … Newport scored a 25-15, 25-17, 25-20 win over visiting Priest River. … Liberty needed four games to knock off Rosalia, 18-25, 25-16, 25-22, 25-12. …Reardan survived a challenge from St. John-Endicott 25-20, 26-24, 25-12. … Colfax, last year’s Class A state runner-up, scored a four-game win over visiting Class 2A Lakeside, 25-19, 29-31, 25-22, 25-11. … Freeman needed five games — and 44 points in the race-to-15 fifth game — to knock off former Northeast A League rival Northwest Christian, 23-25, 25-7, 26-24, 23-25, 23-21. … Class B Selkirk scored a five-game win over Class A Kettle Falls, 25-22, 12-25, 21-25, 25-17, 15-4. … Sprague-Harrington rolled past Springdale, 25-6, 25-4, 25-15. … Tekoa-Oakesdale took down two-time defending state champion Lind-Ritzville, 25-17, 25-20, 25-22.

Chewelah scored a 2-0 victory over Bonners Ferry. … Lewiston scored a 4-1 victory over Clarkston in a nonleague neighborhood battle . … Connell scored a 4-1 win over Pullman in a nonleague match.

Boys soccer

Five different players scored as Northwest Christian blanked the Lumberjacks in a nonleague game at St. Maries. Karl Richardson earned the shutout in goal for the Crusaders, who out-shot their hosts 31-5.
