Court Appointed Special Advocates – needs volunteers to make recommendations to the court for the benefit of children. Information: 667-9165.

Big Brothers Big Sisters – needs positive male role models to volunteer one lunch-hour a week to make a difference in a grade-school boy’s future. Days can be flexible. Call Ruth at the School-Based Mentors Program at 667-0975.

CDA Food Bank – needs volunteers to fill food boxes, stock shelves, distribute food and enter computer data. Gardeners are also needed for the Community Gardens program. Contact the Food Bank Community Action Agency at 664-8757.

Kootenai Humane Society – Needs foster homes and volunteers to groom, feed and walk pets and clean at the shelter in Hayden Lake. Pet-handlers for adoption shows are also needed. Donations are welcome at the shelter and their thrift store on Third Street in Coeur d’Alene. Information: 772-4019.

Lake City Senior Center – is in need of volunteers to deliver “meals on wheels” to the homebound on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. To help, call 667-4628.
