EWU will be hub for election returns

The Associated Press will collect and report election returns from 22 states, including eight presidential battleground states, at its Western Election Center in Cheney next Tuesday night.

This marks the third consecutive election in which AP has operated the center from the Eastern Washington University campus.

“In 2000 and 2002, the election setup at Eastern Washington University worked so well, it was a no-brainer to come back again,” said Ann Joyce, director of the AP Data Center in Spokane. The data center collects and reports election returns and high school sports scores from across the country.
