Forum Tuesday to address low-income housing
The Spokane Low Income Housing Consortium and the Washington Low Income Housing Alliance will present a forum on state and federal low-income housing from 1-3 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 30 at the Salvation Army, 222 E. Indiana Ave. The event is free and the public is welcome.
The forum will address the affordable housing needs of Spokane, describe existing affordable housing and partnerships, and discuss the local impact of state and federal funding sources. Also, the presentation will address state and federal legislative agendas and initiatives related to housing.
The need for affordable housing in the greater Spokane area far exceeds the available assistance. There are currently more than 4,000 families on waiting lists for vouchers and public housing assistance.
