Doba needs to feign excitement

The Spokesman-Review

Please, somebody give WSU football coach Bill Doba a lesson in EMOTION!!

If the coach shows no excitement, inspiration or even the least bit of passion whether he wins or loses … what is the net effect on his team? He doesn’t even seem upset when the referees choose to become handicapped and/or blind! There was never any visual doubt if ex-coaches Mike Price or Jim Walden were emotionally involved in the game’s outcome. If you want excitement, listen to Bob Robertson and Walden’s broadcast of the game on the radio. Listen to Walden be interviewed on the pre-game show. He could arouse excitement in a tackling dummy.

We all know Doba is a nice guy … but we also know where nice guys finish. So between now and next season, he needs to convert his cardboard cutout attitude into a winning, overt and obvious show that he really gives a damn … and sounds like it…
