NEW FACES

Mark Butera has been hired as a business banker II in the Coeur d’Alene branch of Sterling Savings Bank. He was previously a branch manager at U.S. Bank and has worked in the banking industry for over 15 years.

Integrus Architecture has hired Forrest Shannon as a project architect. Shannon is responsible for schematic design, design development and construction documentation.

Robert Graper has been hired as a structural engineer at Integrus Architecture. Graper is responsible for structural design and preparation of contract documents.

The Spokane office of Payne Financial Group has hired Brent Williams as a personal insurance agent. He previously worked in the claims department of Safeco Insurance.

Lisa Kaley has been hired as the division director of the Inland Northwest district of the March of Dimes. Kaley was previously with Bank of America.

The Spokane office of Keller Williams Realty has hired Cloraine Locke as an agent. Locke was previously with John L. Scott in Gig Harbor and has been working in the real estate industry since 1975.

Sherry Coleman has been hired at the Spokane office of Keller Williams Realty as an agent. Coleman is a newly licensed agent and is also a registered nurse.

WhiteRunkle Advertising has hired James Hryniewicz as a traffic coordinator. Hryniewicz previously worked at Momentum Marketing in Wenatchee and is a recent graduate of Saint Martin’s College in Lacey, Wash.

Leif Torgenrud has been hired at Sterling Savings Bank as vice president and commercial credit administrator. Torgenrud earned his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Washington and has over 27 years of experience in the banking industry.

U.S. Bank Home Mortgage has hired Steven Driscoll as a loan officer. He has over six years of experience in the mortgage industry and is the author of the book, A Loan Officer’s Handbook for Success.

Scott Shellman has been hired as the golf sales manager at the Coeur d’Alene Resort. Shellman is a graduate of Coeur d’Alene High School and holds a degree in hotel administration from the University of Nevada Las Vegas.

World Wide Packets has hired Brower Dimond as vice president of engineering. Dimond has 20 years of experience in the engineering industry and previously worked at Gluon Networks and at Ericsson Inc.

Catrisse Glemaker has been hired as a member service representative at Global Credit Union in the Mead branch inside Yokes. She previously worked at Busy Bugs Day Care in Chattaroy, Wash.

Global Credit Union has hired Victor Frazier has a member business representative in the Shadle branch. Frazier was previously a vice president and investment officer at Vining-Sparks IBG.

Melanie Jones has been hired at the Coeur d’Alene office of Magnuson, McHugh & Co. as an auditor. Jones holds a bachelor’s degree from Boise State University and was previously an accountant.

PROMOTED

Sterling Savings Bank has promoted Rob Butterfield to vice president and controller. He is a certified public accountant and is a graduate of Eastern Washington University. Butterfield has been with the bank since 2001.

The Coeur d’Alene office of Magnuson, McHugh & Co. has promoted Jina Walk to administrative assistant. She was previously the receptionist of the company and is a graduate of Lake City High School.

KUDOS

Jerry and Regina Lillie, the owners of 15 Supercuts hair salon franchises in Eastern and Central Washington and Northern Idaho, have been named the winners of the 2004 Cost Cutters Franchised Hair Salon Division by corporate parent Regis Corp.

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Research and Education Foundation has awarded G. Dennis Clifton, vice president of operations at INGfertility in Valleyford, Wash., the 2004 Literature Award for Innovation in Pharmacy Practice in Health Systems. Clifton received this award for an article he had published in the American Journal of Health-Systems Pharmacists.

Spokane Insurance Associates recently acknowledged several insurance employees at their annual All-Industry Night. The winners were: Sherry Brophy, Marsh, Rookie of the Year; Rosie Williams, Unitrin, Claims Professional of the Year; Anita Koch, Marsh, Insurance Professional of the Year; Unitrin, the Industry Award; and Bruce Mountjoy, Able Claims Service, Industry Leader of the Year.

Lake Roosevelt Realty Inc. has received the Diamond Award for sales production for the third quarter of 2004 from United Country Real Estate. The company is owned by Sherie Wardian of Davenport, Wash.

WhiteRunkle of Spokane has been awarded the Best Online Media Ad of 2004 at the fourth annual Eyeblaster Awards. The company won for its online campaign for National Geographic.

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts has named AAA Washington/Inland its AAA Club of the Year, based on the Spokane chapter’s increase in AAA vacations and Disney Cruise Line sales.

Potlatch Corp.’s Forest Stewardship Council has received a Top-10 New Green Building Products Award by BuildingGreen Inc., the publisher of Environmental Building News and GreenSpec.

Cozza Optical has been named the First Runner-Up in the 2004 National Family Business Awards, First Generation Category, by the Mass Mutual Financial Group.

NEW BUSINESS

Allstate Insurance Co.’s Roy Edwards, an exclusive agent, has opened a new office at 720 N. Argonne. Edwards’s office can be reached at 922-2098.

The Spokane office of Homewatch CareGivers is now offering personal-care services to veterans and their surviving spouses through a Veterans Administration home-care program. Homewatch’s program is called Veterans Salute.

Quiznos Subs has opened a new store at 12519 N. Division. The store is owned and operated by Tim and Jeri Shay of Spokane and is the eighth store to open in the Spokane area.

GIFTS

Numerica Credit Union raised almost $700 during the month of October to donate to local children’s oncology programs. The credit union raised the money by selling paper hearts to its members.

Covey Run Winery is donating 50 cents for every bottle of wine sold to Operation Gratitude, an organization that’s sending care packages to troops from the Northwest that are stationed overseas. The winery is donating up to $25,000 to the program.

The Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce has recently elected new officers to its board of directors for 2005. They are: Ben Wolfinger, chair; Bryan Ogle, chair elect; Barb Bradley, treasurer; Jim Deffenbaugh, vice chair; Mark Fisher, vice chair, Tim Komberec, vice chair; and Chuck Anderson, past chair.
