COPS Downtown – Volunteers are needed to work at the front desk, weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Four-hour shifts are requested, and training will be provided. For information, call Bob at 625-3350.
Eastern State Hospital – Sponsor a patient at Eastern State Hospital for the upcoming holidays. Sponsors are given wish lists from patients that might include clothing, watches, candy or other items for their gift bag. For information, contact Susan at 299-4280 or e-mail bordgesu@dshs.wa.gov.
KSPS Friends of Seven – Volunteers are needed for membership campaigns to answer calls from members pledging support. Must have legible handwriting, adequate hearing, be willing to talk on the phone and be at least 16 years old. For information, call Shawn at 354-7724.
New Hope Resource Center – This faith-based ecumenical organization is looking for volunteers to be “Handyman Helpers” for the elderly who need help with home repairs. Experience in carpentry, plumbing and electrical is preferred. For information, call Janeen at 467-2900.
Washington Reading Corps – Tutors are needed at area elementary schools to help children learn to read.
