Stackhouse shines against his old team
Jerry Stackhouse found himself in a starring role against his former team.
Stackhouse scored 28 points against his former team, including three 3-pointers during a pivotal 23-6 run in the fourth quarter, to help the Dallas Mavericks win for the seventh time in eight games, a 122-113 victory over the Washington Wizards in Washington.
Dirk Nowitzki had 32 points and 13 rebounds for the Mavericks, who won despite four Wizards starters scoring at least 20 points.
Heat 112, Bucks 110 (2OT): At Miami, Keyon Dooling forced a second overtime with a running layup, and Miami took advantage by scoring the first seven points of the extra session in a victory over Milwaukee. Shaquille O’Neal had his third straight double-double, finishing with 19 points and 18 rebounds for Miami, which snapped a two-game losing streak in dramatic fashion. Keith Van Horn – who scored eight of his 26 points in the first overtime – was short on a straightaway 3-pointer with one second left in the game.
Kings 101, Nuggets 89: At Sacramento, Calif., Brad Miller scored 26 points and grabbed nine rebounds, helping Sacramento defeat Denver. Miller made 7 of 8 shots from the field – including both 3-point attempts – and 10 of 11 free throws. Carmelo Anthony had 28 points and six rebounds for Denver. Peja Stojakovic had 22 points, Mike Bibby scored 20, and Darius Songaila added 10 for the Kings. Sacramento improved to 2-0 at home despite getting only 10 points and nine rebounds from Chris Webber, who was in foul trouble.
76ers 96, Magic 87: At Philadelphia, Allen Iverson had 29 points and 12 assists, and Marc Jackson added 13 points to lead Philadelphia past Orlando. Grant Hill led the Magic with 18 points, Pat Garrity added 14 and No. 1 draft pick Dwight Howard had 14 rebounds.
