Schools vandalized

The Spokesman-Review

Two schools at the eastern end of Spokane Valley were defaced by graffiti.

Someone painted an anarchist symbol and a swastika above the front doors of East Farms Elementary School. The vandalism happened between 11 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday, according to a press release from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office. Obscenities had been painted with black and white spray paint on walls, doors, windows and playground equipment.

At Mountain View Middle School, many of the windows and the school’s reader board were covered with profanity-laced graffiti, police said.

Damage to the two schools, which are near each other and are both part of the East Valley School District, is thought to be more than $500, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
