It’s a big weekend for Freeman and Newport football. The Scotties (9-0) host a play-in game Saturday at 1 p.m. against Wahluke (9-2), while Newport (5-5) travels Saturday to last year’s state runner-up, Royal (10-0), for a 3 p.m. game…. In volleyball, Freeman and Colfax open play Friday at the State 1A tournament at the Yakima SunDome. Colfax, third last year, plays Royal at 9 a.m. while Freeman, fifth last year, takes on Liberty Bell at 12:30 p.m..
