New businesses opening on Sherman

COEUR d’ALENE – Three new adjacent businesses line the north side of Sherman Avenue between Second and Third streets.

One of them, Possibilities, opens today. With a completely renovated interior, including the discovery and refinishing of hardwood floors, the store specializes in upscale custom gift baskets. These can include gourmet foods, wines, coffees and a unique array of spa items.

Owners Lee and Jill Kausen came here last year from San Diego.

Next door, Summers Glass offers a colorful variety of fused glass works of art.

Owners Clark and Cindy Summers make most of the items in their back shop.

They also offer art glass supplies and lessons.

Originally from Butte and Long Beach, Calif., they came north in 2000. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.

With a sign saying it will open in “Spring 2005,” Bella Rose is on the other side of Possibilities in what previously was Big Dad ‘e’ (internet) Café.

The store will be a high-end coffee house and bakery.
