Earlier this year, a San Diego multimillionaire led a group of investors in buying Red Mountain ski resort, located just across the Canadian border in Rossland, British Columbia. The group has ambitious plans for expanding the ski area — eventually it could have more acreage than Jackson Hole in Wyoming — but say they’ll work hard to preserve the small-town ambience of Rossland.
