Expo offers array of lectures, workshops

The Celebrating Body, Mind & Spirit Expo will be held today and Sunday at the Spokane Convention Center. Admission is $6 daily or $10 for both days. That includes dozens of one-hour lectures. Dr. Janis Amatuzio will give a free lecture at noon on “Beyond the Threshold of Death” and will lead a workshop at 2 p.m. today titled “Forever Ours!”

Other highlights include:

• His Eminence Yangtul Kharnang Rinpoche, who has been a teacher for llamas only, is on his first U.S. visit to teach and raise funds for the Kharnang Monastery in Tibet. His 2 p.m. teaching today is free, though a donation to the monastery will be accepted.

• Arthur Samuel Joseph will discuss how to improve the power of your voice, enhance body language, correct posture and more. Joseph has worked with actors Angelina Jolie, Pierce Brosnan and Sean Connery. Workshop: 2 p.m. today. Free talk: 11 a.m. today.

• The new movie “What The #$*! Do We Know!?” — described as an adventure-filled story that combines quantum physics and spirituality — will be screened tonight at 7. The movie combines a narrative story starring Oscar winner Marlee Matlin with documentary interviews with scientists and mystics. Admission is $7.50.

• Brigitte Secard is the author of “Soulfire: The Birth of Wild Aliveness,” which delves into the concept of self-truth instead of self-help and learning to be a womanist instead of feminist. Workshop: 4 p.m. Sunday. Free talk: 1 p.m. Sunday.

• Glynis McCants is a professional comedian and numerologist who, after 9,000 readings, wrote the book “Glynis Has Your Number.” She also created The Numerology Kit, The Individual Reading Chart and the Are We Soul-Mates program. Workshop: 2 p.m. Sunday. Free talk: noon Sunday.
