‘CSI’ actor stars in ‘Evel Knievel’

Joel Brown New York Times Syndicate

George Eads got himself in a heap of trouble the other week by either A) oversleeping on the day he was supposed to show up for work at “CSI,” as he sheepishly tells it, or B) making a hardball play for more money, as the CBS drama’s producers saw it.

Last we heard, everyone had agreed to make up, and Eads will go back to the show despite having been “fired” for a couple of days.

Maybe Eads’ idea of his value was pumped up a bit by his starring role as “Evel Knievel” in a TV movie premiering tonight at 8 on TNT.

This biopic, which repeats at 10, follows the daredevil motorcyclist from his hardscrabble beginnings to his heyday in the spotlight and notes the near-death experiences along the way.

Jaime Pressly co-stars as Mrs. Knievel.
